Welcome to Ashcroft Airfield
History
Ashcroft Airfield (EGCR) has been established since the early 1980's. The Aerodrome's location at the southern end of the Manchester Low Level Corridor gives it a strategic location for visiting aircraft. Ashcroft is an established Diversion Airfield for all microlights and light aircraft. The Airfield was purchased by Steve Billington in 2000 and features in both Pooleys, AFE and Bottlang general aviation Flight Guides.
It has four separate grass runways, three of which are reinforced or drained to enable wet weather use. At 650 metres, the fourth Runway is currently the longest Grass Runway in the North West. The weather station information can be remotely viewed by one of its three webcams........ The Air Traffic Control Tower now has an ATIS
(This is the first A/fld in the UK to have a fully Automated Information service)
