Welcome to Ashcroft Airfield

History

Ashcroft Airfield (EGCR) has been established since the early 1980's. The aerodrome's location at the southern end of the Manchester Low Level Corridor gives it a strategic location for visiting aircraft. Ashcroft is an established Diversion Airfield for all microlights and light aircraft. Ashcroft Airfield was purchased by Steve Billington in 2000 and features in both Pooleys, AFE and Bottlang general aviation Flight Guides. Ashcroft has four separate grass airstrips, three of which are reinforced or drained to enable wet weather use. At 650 metres, the fourth Runway is currently the longest Grass Runway in the North West. Ashcroft's weather station info can be remotely viewed by one of its three webcams. The air traffic control tower is sometimes manned during busy periods. Workshops, storage and large office spaces are available to rent.

Visitors

Visiting single engine aircraft are welcome subject to strict PPR and at pilot's own risk and own discretion. No helicopters are allowed. Landing fees are structured depending on size and engine power of aircraft. Pilots must not do engine runs near the cottages and must avoid flying over surrounding farm houses. Parking is available in the summer, on the grass to the south of the Airfield caravan or in the winter, on a concrete platform with tie down chains. Please do not disturb the residents of the cottages, they are not related to Ashcroft Airfield. Please do not carry out low flypasts or practice Circuits. Ashcroft Airfield weather and NOTAMS are available by viewing the airfield webcams. UNLEADED PETROL NOW AVAILABLE........

Hangarage

Limited hangarage is available at very competitive prices and resident pilots are charged a small supplement for landings. Outside parking is also available.
