ATIS (Automated Terminal Information Service)
(1) Ashcroft's ATIS gives you an instantaneous wind dirn/spd (unlike other Airports) .
(2) The ATIS is activated by a transmission on Ashcroft's frequency (122.52 Mhz).
(3) It then remains 'dormant' for 4 min (transmitting during this time extends 'dead' period).
(4) Transmit prior to taxy (to avoid ATIS transmission interupting your Take-Off).
(5) Arrival: once you've heard the ATIS, key your mike every 2 min to postpone ATIS.
